This is not unheard of. John points to a cotton farm in Asia and a rice farm in Asia that each run at about 95% automation. As much as we talk about the future, the truth is that smart farming is not just coming. It is already here in some places, and it is heading for every farm.

Climate change is having dramatic effects on the farming cycle and even on where farming happens. Up to 40% of the American south is under drought conditions. That is a very tough way to farm, and precision is part of the answer.
